The Bixolon SRP-270 is an impact printer
Use bond paper — not thermal.The Bixolon SRP-270 prints by striking an ink ribbon against the paper, so it needs plain bond paper (single-ply, or 2-ply carbonless for duplicate tickets). Thermal receipt paper has no ink and will print blank in this machine. If you've been getting faint or blank tickets, the wrong paper type is the usual cause.
Ribbon note. The Bixolon SRP-270 uses the GRC-220 / RRC-201 ribbon, which we don't currently stock — call 1-877-971-1010 and we'll source it. The bond paper above is in stock and ships today.

What paper does the Bixolon SRP-270 use? −
The Bixolon SRP-270 is an impact printer — it uses 3" (76mm) bond paper and an ink ribbon, not thermal paper. Our fit is the 3" × 165' 1-Ply Bond roll, case of 50 rolls. (Thermal paper will not print in an impact printer.)
Can the Bixolon SRP-270 print duplicate (2-ply) tickets? +
Yes — the Bixolon SRP-270 runs 2-ply carbonless bond for a kitchen copy + a customer/record copy. Use the 3" × 95' 2-ply roll instead of the 1-ply.
Does the Bixolon SRP-270 need a ribbon? +
Yes — it uses the GRC-220 / RRC-201 ribbon, which we don't currently stock. Call 1-877-971-1010 and we'll source it; the bond paper ships today.
Is this thermal paper? +
No. The Bixolon SRP-270 is an impact (dot-matrix) printer and uses plain bond paper printed through a ribbon. Thermal paper is a different product and will print blank in this machine.
