The Epson TM-U220B is an impact printer
Use bond paper — not thermal.The Epson TM-U220B prints by striking an ink ribbon against the paper, so it needs plain bond paper (single-ply, or 2-ply carbonless for duplicate tickets). Thermal receipt paper has no ink and will print blank in this machine. If you've been getting faint or blank tickets, the wrong paper type is the usual cause.
You'll also need the ribbon.The Epson TM-U220B is an impact printer, so it prints with an ink ribbon as well as paper. It takes the Epson ERC-30/34/38 Black/Red ribbon (ERC-38).
